General information about domains

How long does it take until the domain is available after registration?

If your credit covers the registration of the domain, it only takes a few minutes after your order until the domain is active and available in your Customer Center. Now you can edit the DNS records or order a hosting package for your domain. Please note that it can take up to 48 hours pending on the DNS update until your domain gets accessible worldwide.

How can I change the DNS records of my domain?

The DNS records can be changed in your Customer Center. At first you need to login to the Customer Center.

Then select the menu entry "Purchases", after hover your mouse over the "DNS-Service" of your domain and click on "edit zone records" on the right side. Here you can change the name server records or add new records.

Overview of DNS resource types:

  • A
    To redirect the domain or subdomain name to an IPv4 address (IP pointing).
  • AAAA
    To redirect the domain or subdomain name to an IPv6 address (IP pointing).
  • CNAME
    To redirect the domain or subdomain name to another hostname (alias).
  • MX
    This type of DNS resource record is used to define the mail exchange server (hostname) that receives the mails. The lowest preference number has the highest priority and any server with the lowest preference number must be tried first.
  • TXT
    The TXT resource record is intended for freely definable texts. Many providers are using TXT resource records to identify the ownership of a domain name (e.g. connection with Microsoft Office 365, Google Webmaster Tools, etc.).

How can I change the Nameserver entries of my domain?

The Nameserver entries of your domain can be changed in your Customer Center. First login to your Customer Center.

After that, switch to the tab "Purchases" and hover your mouse over your domainname. Now select "edit nameservers" to add or change entries.

How to setup a free domain and/or e-mail forwarding?

1. You already have a hosting package from us: When you already have a hosting package, no matter if it's a hosting, WordPress hosting or e-mail server package, you can setup a domain forwarding in the Control Panel with the module "Domain Redirect". You can choose between URL forwarding (the address bar of the browser shows the URL of the target) or frame forwarding (the domain name remains in the address bar, the forwarding destination is not visible to the visitor).

2. You don't have a hosting package from us: In that case you need to login to your Customer Center, to order a domain forwarding. In your Customer Center go to "Order", then select "order forwarding only" on the right or you select "order forwarding" at the tab "Main". You can choose between URL forwarding (the address bar of the browser shows the URL of the target), frame forwarding (the domain name remains in the address bar, the forwarding destination is not visible to the visitor), e-mail forwarding and a combination of the different forwarding types. Choose the needed forwarding type and click on "start order" on the right. Insert all needed information like the forwarding destination or the destination e-mail address, agree to our terms and conditions and choose "order" to place your order.

How can I change the owner information (contact details) of my domains?

At first you need to login to your Customer Center, to change the owner information (contact details) of your domain. In the Customer Center you can find an overview of all your domains at "Purchases". At the domain you want to change select the option "edit domain data". Depending on the domain ending the most owner changes need an online confirmation (e-mail to new and old owners) or a confirmation by form.

How can I transfer my domain to alldomains.hosting?

Are there any differences depending on the domain ending at the flow of a transfer?

Yes, the transfer of a domain can be different depending on the different endings. Details about the procedure of the different domain endings can be found at our "Domain Transfer info page".

How can I request an AuthInfo Code?

First you need to login to your Customer Center. In the Customer Center you go to "Purchases" in the menu and click on you domain name. In the menu on the right side you can find "Authorisation Code", after clicking on that menu entry you can see your AuthInfo Code.
